Bitter, bitter beauty
Twists me up inside
I refuse to love her fully
For that which she can’t hide
Her vibrancy burns my eyes
My hands trapped by her textures
Perfection is full of lies
I make bitter conjectures
Beauty in the eye of the beholder
With my clear vision I hate her
Is her skin still feather-soft
When my hands are not upon her?
Does she still smile with the same mouth
When I look away from her?
Out of sight, out of mind
Only hideous is she mine
Parrots don’t fly with common birds
She won’t be swayed by my three words
I love her
I love her
I love her
(Keep her away
Let her decay
For just one day
Make her as gray
As I am)
